Jeremy Pahl

Jeremy Pahl is known by his ancestors as Wil Uks Batsga G̱a̱laaw. (The cedar tree that stands seaward). He is a member of the La̱xsgyiik (eagle) clan from the Gitga’at First Nation. He is a Sm’algya̱x language keeper, and has been a professional musician working with various projects for the last 18 years.

 

He currently tours the continent in a Ts’msyen fuzz rock band called “G̱a̱mksimoon” - singing entirely in Sm’algya̱x. At home, he works tirelessly at revitalizing the Ts’msyen language.
